The attention to detail on this HotGrip From Owlkrown is simply a work of art besides also being very functional. It is a SOLID block of brass that feels substantial in the hand and is very durable. When I opened the box and saw it for the first time it was like seeing an expensive piece of jewelry! When I inserted it into the camera’s hot shoe it fit like a glove, no wiggle, no gaps, just pure engineering perfection as if it was meant to be. They say aesthetics matter when it comes to camera gear and Owlkrown has delivered in spades, even exceeding my very high expectations. At the dinner table when I pulled out the Leica M11P, the Owlkrown brass HotGrip was the center of attention and immediately became a conversation piece.

Overall is excellent. But the plastic pattern of sliding lid Protection was ugly.

The grooves on the sliding protection lid are intentionally machined to improve grip and usability, especially since this is such a small component that needs to be easy to operate in everyday use. This part is not injection molded plastic, it is precision machined from a solid block of Delrin AF 159, a premium engineering material selected for its durability, dimensional stability, and performance. That said, we truly appreciate your perspective on the visual design. Feedback like yours helps us continue refining both function and aesthetics.
