The Modular FlexPlate for the Leica SL3 system is in production, with the first batch shipping late August into early September 2026. Order today to reserve your spot in this initial run.

We shoot the SL3 here.

Photo, video, and the street. This plate came out of those days, not off a spec sheet.

We wanted one thing: a plate discreet enough to live on the camera permanently, carrying everything a working day actually needs. And when the job asks for more, it builds into the rig.

That is the FlexPlate.

Modular design.

The plate is the base layer. It is a finished piece on its own, and it is also the mount everything else builds onto, so the camera changes shape with the work instead of being replaced.

  • Base plate. On its own. Grip, concealed Arca, AirTag bay and two spare cards. Studio and street.
  • L bracket. Vertical without moving the head.
  • Side handle. For video days and long lenses.
  • Top handle. For low angles and rigged work.
  • More on the bench.

Note: this listing is for the plate. Coming soon: the L bracket, side handle and top handle are in development, and each one mounts to the same base you buy today. Additional rigging accessories will be sold separately.

Same base. Different rig. One camera that keeps up with the whole week.

A pinky ledge.

Your little finger finally has somewhere to land. Long days, heavy glass, larger hands, a fast pace. The grip stops being something you manage and starts being something you forget about.

Arca profile, concealed.

Flush at the base. The camera drops straight onto a tripod or rig. No separate plate to find, none to forget at home.

AirTag compartment, hidden.

The camera can tell you where it is. Nothing on the outside says so.

Two spare cards. One external, one internal.

The shoot runs long, the card fills, and the spare is already on the camera. You never walk back to the bag.

Two 1/4-20 mounts.

Tripods, cages, arms, straps. Whatever the day needs, there is a thread for it.

Anti-skid contact points.

The camera stays planted on a table, a case lid, a car hood. The base stays unmarked.

Low profile.

It adds security without adding bulk. The SL3 still handles like an SL3.

One plate covers the whole line.

The SL3, SL3-S, SL3 Reporter and SL3-P share the same body, so one FlexPlate fits all four. Move up or across the range later and the plate comes with you.

Designed and engineered in Miami by photographers who shoot these bodies every day.

Made in Miami.

  • Machined from solid billet, tumbled, bead blasted, then finished in house with Type III hardcoat anodize, the hardest of the anodize classes.
  • Pinky ledge at the base of the grip that extends your hold and locks the little finger in.
  • Concealed Arca profile, flush at the base, for direct tripod and rig mounting.
  • Concealed AirTag compartment.
  • Double SD card storage, one external and one internal.
  • Dual 1/4-20 threaded mounts for tripods, cages and accessories.
  • Anti-skid rubber contact points.
  • Low profile design that adds grip and stability without bulk.
  • Modular architecture. The plate is the base layer for the L bracket, side handle, top handle and future modules.
  • Finish: Black Chrome.
  • Modular FlexPlate.
  • EDC Keychain Tool. Flat, foldable, 4mm hex driver that doubles as a box opener. Designed by our founder, Gaston Shutters.
  • All hardware needed to mount the plate.
  • Built for the Leica SL3 system and every variant.
  • Leica SL3 (60MP, 2024). Leica SL3-S (24MP, 2025). Leica SL3 Reporter (2025). Leica SL3-P (44MP, 2026).
  • All four share the same body dimensions, so one FlexPlate fits the entire line.
  • L-mount system camera. Works alongside SL lenses, L-mount lenses and adapted glass without interference.
  • Wipe with a soft, dry cloth. For heavier grime, use a slightly damp cloth and dry it after.
  • The Black Chrome anodize is hard wearing and holds up to daily shooting.
  • Check the 1/4-20 threads and mounting hardware from time to time. Snug them with the included tool if needed.

Made in Miami by photographers, for photographers.

  • Which cameras does it fit?All SL3 variants. The SL3, SL3-S, SL3 Reporter and SL3-P share the same body, so one FlexPlate covers the whole line. Move up or across the range later and the plate comes with you.
  • Is the L bracket or a handle available now?Not yet. This listing is for the plate. The L bracket, side handle and top handle are in development, and each one is designed to mount to the same base you buy today. They and any additional rigging accessories will be sold separately.
  • Do I still need a separate Arca plate? No. The Arca profile is machined into the base and sits flush, so the camera drops straight onto a tripod or rig. There is nothing extra to find, and nothing to forget at home.
  • Can I leave it on the camera all the time? That is what it was built for. It stays low enough in profile to live on the body permanently rather than something you fit for a job and take off afterward.
  • What can I mount to it?Two 1/4-20 threaded points for tripods, cages, arms and straps. The plate is also the base layer for the L bracket, side handle and top handle.
  • What do the card bays hold? Two spare SD cards, one external and one internal, so a spare is already on the camera when a card fills mid shoot.
  • Where does the AirTag go?Into a concealed compartment inside the plate. The camera can tell you where it is, and nothing on the outside says so.
  • What is the finish?Black Chrome, Type III hardcoat anodize, done in house. It is the hardest of the anodize classes and holds up to daily shooting.
  • What do I need to install it?Nothing you do not already have. The FlexPlate ships with the EDC Keychain Tool, a flat 4mm hex driver, and all the hardware needed to mount it.
  • Is this a Leica product? No. Owlkrown designs and machines the FlexPlate in Miami. It is an independent accessory built for the SL3 system, not made or sold by Leica.
  • When does it ship? The first batch ships late August into early September 2026. Ordering now reserves a place in that run.
