The hot red from top to bottom

The Ruby Gloss FlexCase on an OxBlood anodized base plate. Italian vegetable tanned leather in a saturated red with a pebbled grain and a glossy finish, wrapped around aerospace grade 6061-T6 aluminum machined in Miami for the Leica M11 and M EV1. The plate is where the engineering lives: a concealed Arca profile, an AirTag bay, two quarter twenty threads and full access to the battery, the card and the USB-C port without lifting the camera out.

Every other FlexCase puts a neutral plate under the leather. This one carries the colour through. The leather is gloss and the anodizing is matte, so the two reds sit at different depths instead of trying to match each other exactly. Produced in very small batches, so a colour runs until the hide is gone.

  • Fits. Leica M11, Leica M EV1.
  • Plate. OxBlood anodized, aerospace grade 6061-T6 aluminum.
  • Weight. 78 grams, 2.8 ounces, complete with the plate.
  • Size. 5 5/8 inches long, 1 1/2 inches wide, 2 3/4 inches high. 143 by 38 by 70 mm.
  • Tripod. Concealed Arca profile, flush at the bottom. The camera goes on a tripod without the case coming off.
  • Threads. Two, 1/4 inch by 20.
  • Tracking. AirTag bay machined into the plate, with its own keychain tool to open it. The tag itself is not included.
  • Base. Anti skid treatment. You feel it the moment you set the camera on a flat surface.
  • Access. Battery, SD card and USB-C, all reachable with the case on.
  • Interior. Fully lined and padded. The finish of the camera never meets bare metal or bare leather.
  • Production. Close to three days of machining and hand work go into each one, which is why only a handful leave the bench each month. Excluded from sitewide promotions.
  • Italian vegetable tanned leather. A saturated red with a pebbled grain and a glossy finish, so the texture catches light instead of sitting flat.
  • OxBlood anodized plate. Aerospace grade 6061-T6 aluminum, anodized in a deep red. The colour sits inside the anodized layer rather than on top of it, so it does not chip off an edge the way paint does.
  • Edges finished three times. Painted, sanded and finished again across 72 hours.
  • Lined and padded inside. The finish of the camera never touches bare material.
  • Made in Miami. Cut, machined and finished in our own shop.
  • The colourRed on red, in two finishes. The leather is gloss and reads bright in daylight; the anodizing is matte and sits darker, so the plate reads as a line under the case rather than as more of the same red.
  • A day of carrying it78 grams under the camera, lined and padded, so the body never meets bare metal. Aluminum is the light one: the case adds protection without adding heft. The edges are painted, sanded and finished three times across 72 hours, which is the part that survives a bag.
  • On the tripod, then off againThe Arca profile is cut into the plate and sits flush, so the camera drops onto a head and comes back off without the case ever leaving it.
  • Knowing where it isTrack your camera with an AirTag, concealed inside the plate. Access it anytime with the included EDC Keychain Tool. AirTag not included.
  • FlexCase. One, in Ruby Gloss leather with an OxBlood anodized base plate.
  • EDC Keychain Tool. Opens the AirTag compartment in the plate.
  • AirTag. Not included. What we machine is the compartment it drops into.
  • Leica M11 and M EV1. Cut for those two bodies. It does not fit the M10 or earlier M bodies. The M11 D has its own FlexCase, because the plate is machined to the body it sits under.
  • The case stays on. Battery, SD card and USB-C are all reachable without taking the camera out of the leather.
  • Straight onto a tripod. The Arca profile is concealed in the base plate, so the head takes the camera with the case still fitted.
  • Two quarter twenty threads. For a plate, a grip, a cage or a strap anchor.
  • Let it dry on its own. If it gets wet, dry it away from direct heat. A radiator will stiffen vegetable tanned leather permanently.
  • Cleaning the leather. A dry cloth for dust, a barely damp one for anything else, then let it dry flat.
  • Conditioner. Sparingly, colourless, and never on the edges. A gloss finish needs far less than a matte one.
  • Cleaning the plate. A dry microfibre lifts dust and fingerprints. Brush or rinse grit off the base before you wipe it, because sand dragged across the plate is what actually scratches anodizing. Nothing abrasive and no solvents: the colour lives inside the anodized layer, and once you cut through it the plate does not come back.
  • The patina is the point. The leather darkens and marks where your hand sits. That is the material working, not the case wearing out. The anodized plate does not patina, so the red under the case stays where it started while the red above it deepens.
  • Do I have to take it off to change the battery or the card? No. The base plate stays on and the battery, the SD card and the USB-C port are all reachable with the case fitted.
  • What is under the leather?Aerospace grade 6061-T6 aluminum, anodized OxBlood, 78 grams complete.
  • Do the two reds match exactly? No, and they are not meant to. The leather is a gloss vegetable tanned red and the plate is a matte anodized OxBlood, so one reads bright and the other reads deep.
  • How big is it, and what does it weigh?5 5/8 inches long, 1 1/2 inches wide, 2 3/4 inches high. 143 by 38 by 70 mm. 78 grams, 2.8 ounces, complete with the plate.
  • Will my case look exactly like the photographs?Close, not identical. Vegetable tanned leather varies in grain and tone by nature, so colour shifts slightly from piece to piece.
  • Does it work on a tripod without coming off?Yes. The Arca profile is cut into the plate itself.
  • Does it fit the M11 D?No. The M11 D has its own FlexCase.
  • Can I get this leather on a different plate?Yes. The Ruby Gloss FlexCase is also offered in Black Chrome, Silver Chrome, Solid Brass and Black Patina. This listing is the OxBlood plate only.
