• Fits. Leica M11, Leica M EV1.
• Plate finishes. Four. Black Chrome and Silver Chrome are aerospace grade 6061-T6 aluminum, anodized. Black Patina and Brass are solid brass.

Grade 2. That is the supplier's own term for a skin that carries some natural marking, and it is the grade we chose on purpose. The dye evens out the colour a natural hide varies in, but it does not touch the scale relief, so every panel still falls differently and no two cases leave the shop with the same pattern. If you want a finish with no variation, this is not the one.

• Base plate, aluminum. Aerospace grade 6061-T6, machined in our own shop and anodized in Black Chrome or Silver Chrome. The colour sits inside the anodized layer rather than on top of it, so it does not chip off an edge the way paint does.
• Base plate, brass. Solid brass, machined in the same shop. Raw, so it darkens as it oxidizes, or in a black patina that starts dark.
• The skin. Reticulated python, front cut, chrome tanned and dyed black in a matte finish. CITES II certified.
• Lined and padded inside. The finish of the camera never touches bare material.
• Made in Miami. Cut, machined and finished in our own shop.

• The skin you getPython is not printed. The scales in these photographs belong to one hide and yours will belong to another, which is the whole point of a Grade 2 front cut. Black shows the relief rather than the colour, so what varies is the pattern itself.
• A day of carrying it78 grams on aluminum, 186 on brass, lined and padded either way, so the camera never meets bare metal. The skin is chrome tanned, so it takes damp better than a vegetable tanned hide.
• On the tripod, then off againThe Arca profile is machined into the plate and sits flush, so the camera drops onto a head and comes back off without the case ever leaving it.
• Knowing where it isThe AirTag bay is machined into the plate and opens only with the keychain tool in the box. The tag itself is Apple's.

• AirTag. Never included. Apple sell the tag; what is machined into the plate is the bay it drops into, and the keychain tool that opens it.

• Leica M11 and M EV1. Cut for those two bodies. It does not fit the M10 or earlier M bodies unless that is confirmed separately. The M11 D has its own FlexCase, because the plate is machined to the body it sits under.
• The case stays on. Battery, SD card and USB-C are all reachable without taking the camera out of the skin.
• Straight onto a tripod. The Arca profile is concealed in the base plate, so the head takes the camera with the case still fitted.
• Two quarter twenty threads. For a plate, a grip, a cage or a strap anchor.

Wipe the scales with a dry cloth, following the direction they lie rather than against it. If the case takes on water, let it dry away from direct heat, because heat is what lifts and hardens a scale edge.

The skin is chrome tanned, so it tolerates damp better than a vegetable tanned hide and needs no conditioner on a schedule. Do not work oil or cream under the scales trying to feed it; a matte black python is meant to stay matte, and oil is what turns it patchy.

The Black Chrome and Silver Chrome plates are anodized aluminum, and they are cleaned rather than polished. A dry microfibre lifts dust and fingerprints, and a barely damp cloth followed by a dry one takes off anything the dry cloth leaves. Brush or rinse grit off the base before you wipe it, because sand dragged across the plate is what actually scratches these finishes.

Nothing abrasive on the aluminum: no metal polish, no scouring pad, no compound. The colour lives inside the anodized layer, so once you cut through it the plate does not come back. Keep solvents and household cleaners away from it too, since anything strongly alkaline will strip anodizing. Soap and water is the strongest thing it needs, and it wants drying afterwards so nothing sits in the AirTag bay.

Brass dulls as it oxidizes. Leave it and it darkens evenly, which is what most people want; polish it and it returns to bright. The black patina is a finish on the same brass, so treat it as a surface: wipe it, do not polish it, or you will take the patina back to bright metal in the places you rub hardest.

• Will my case look like the photographs?. In finish and construction, yes. In pattern, no. Python is not printed, so the scales in these pictures belong to one hide and yours will belong to another. The dye is consistent; the scales are not.
• Is this real python or a printed pattern?. Real. Reticulated python, front cut, dyed black. CITES II certified and imported under the permits that trade requires, which is also why it ships only to approved U.S. destinations.
• Aluminum or brass?. Aluminum if you want the camera to gain almost nothing, 78 grams complete, in Black Chrome or Silver Chrome. Brass if you want the weight in the hand and a plate that ages, 186 grams complete, either raw or in a black patina. Everything else about the case is identical.
• Does the case come off to charge or change cards?. No. Battery, SD card and USB-C stay reachable with the case on.
• How big is it, and what does it weigh?. 5 5/8 inches long, 1 1/2 inches wide, 2 3/4 inches high. 143 by 38 by 70 mm. It weighs 78 grams, 2.8 ounces, with an aluminum plate, and 186 grams, 6.6 ounces, with a brass one.
• Can I put it straight on a tripod?. Yes. The Arca profile is machined into the base and sits flush, so nothing needs removing first.
• Does an AirTag come with it?. No, and it never has. What we machine is the bay in the plate and the keychain tool that opens it. The tag is Apple's.
• Will the black fade?. The dye is through the skin rather than a coating on it, so it does not lift the way a surface colour would. It will take on the marks of being carried, which is the hide behaving correctly.
• Do the chrome plates age like the brass?. No. Anodized aluminum holds its colour and does not patina, so a Black Chrome or Silver Chrome plate looks the same in a year as it does out of the box. That is the trade: no ageing to enjoy, nothing to keep up with either.
