The FlexGrip for the Q2 and Q3, in aluminum or brass
Machined in Miami for the Leica Q2 and Q3, the FlexGrip continues the shape of the camera rather than bolting something onto it. An integrated Arca profile, two 1/4-20 mounts, a third strap lug and a concealed AirTag module, in one continuous form.
Two materials. Aluminum in Black Chrome or Silver Chrome weighs 76 grams complete. Brass, solid or in a hand-applied black patina, weighs 204 grams and ages with handling instead of staying uniform.
- Fits. Leica Q2 and Leica Q3.
- Material. Aluminum, or solid brass, depending on the finish you choose.
- Finish. Black Chrome and Silver Chrome are aluminum. Solid Brass and Black Patina are brass.
- Weight. 76 grams in aluminum, 204 grams in brass.
- Tripod. Integrated Arca profile for direct mounting, shaped to stop the camera tipping forward on the head.
- Threads. Two, 1/4 inch by 20, on the base, for tripods and accessories.
- Strap lug. A third attachment point for Peak Design anchors, wrist straps or flat webbing, which is what makes portrait carry work.
- Tracking. A removable module conceals an AirTag beneath the SD card door. Photos still transfer straight out of the camera's USB-C port, faster than most card readers. Take the module out and the door returns to standard.
- Removable grip. One screw. The handle comes off and another goes on, so the grip can be re-finished later without replacing the plate.
- Internal padding. The camera rests on a silicone mat, which prevents scratches and stops the grip shifting under the body.
- Installation tool. A flat keychain tool designed by Gaston Shutters, with a 4 mm hex. It doubles as a box opener, so it stays on your keys rather than in a drawer.
- Origin. Designed, engineered and manufactured in Miami, Florida.
- Aluminum. The light one. 76 grams complete, in Black Chrome or Silver Chrome.
- Solid brass. 204 grams. The weight sits low under the body, which steadies the Q in one hand, and the surface changes with handling.
- Black patina. Brass with a hand-applied dark finish. The high-contact areas wear back to bright brass over time.
- Origin. Designed, engineered and manufactured in Miami, Florida.
- The finishBlack Chrome disappears against a black body. Silver Chrome draws a bright line along the base. Brass starts gold and does not stay that way.
- A day of carrying it76 grams in aluminum or 204 in brass. The Q is front-heavy with its fixed lens, and the brass version is the one that answers that rather than just adding mass.
- On the tripod, then off againThe Arca profile is cut into the plate itself, so the camera drops onto a head and comes back off without anything being unscrewed first. The profile is shaped to stop the body tipping forward, which is where a long lens usually takes it.
- Knowing where it isThe AirTag sits inside the plate, closed from the outside. Nothing protrudes and nothing announces that it is there.
- Carrying it in portraitThe third lug takes a Peak Design anchor, a wrist strap or flat webbing, so the camera can hang vertically instead of swinging across your front.
- FlexGrip. One, in the material and finish you chose, cut for the body you selected.
- EDC Keychain Tool. The flat 4 mm hex tool that installs the grip and opens the AirTag module.
- AirTag. Never included. Apple sell the tag; what we machine is the compartment it drops into.
- Leica Q2 and Q3. The Leica Q2 and the Q3. Choose the body at checkout, because the plate is machined to it.
- Two 1/4-20 mounts. On the base, for tripods, plates, cages and accessories.
- A third strap lug. For Peak Design anchors, wrist straps or flat webbing.
- Handles are interchangeable. Any FlexGrip handle fits this plate, in either material.
- Anodized and chrome finishes. A dry cloth for dust, a barely damp one for anything else. Skip solvents and abrasive pastes: the finish is a layer, and once it is cut through it does not grow back.
- Brass is meant to change. The high-contact areas brighten and the rest deepens. That is the material working, not the finish failing. If you want it uniform again, a metal polish will take it back; most people stop doing that after the first year.
- The screw. Check it is snug when you first fit the grip and again after a few outings. A quarter turn with the supplied tool is all it ever needs.
- What does it weigh?76 grams in aluminum, 204 grams in brass.
- Is an AirTag included? No. The compartment is machined into the plate and the AirTag is Apple's to sell. The module that holds it is removable, so the camera can go back to a standard card door whenever you want.
- Can I put the camera straight onto a tripod?Yes. The Arca profile is part of the plate, so no separate plate or adapter is needed and nothing has to come off first.
- Can I change the handle later?Yes. One screw releases the handle and another goes straight on, so a grip bought in aluminum can become brass later without replacing the plate underneath. The handles are sold on their own for exactly this.
- Which cameras does it fit?The Leica Q2 and the Q3. Choose the body at checkout, because the plate is machined to it.
- Can I carry it in portrait orientation?Yes, and that is what the third lug is for. It takes a Peak Design anchor, a wrist strap or flat webbing.
